Rock hounds can mine for diamonds at Crater of Diamonds State Park, the only diamond mine in North America, and numerous crystal mines in the vicinity.
Nature lovers will marvel at the beauty of Garvan Woodland Gardens, a year-round botanical masterpiece on the shores of Lake Hamilton. Seasonally, the Gardens feature more than 1.7 million lights in a winter wonderland from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve.
Live thoroughbred horse racing is held at Oaklawn Jockey Club every January through April, and simulcast racing and gaming can be enjoyed year round.
For kids, or adults who want to act like kids, Magic Springs & Crystal Falls is an amusement and water park that combines great fun during the summer with free live concerts every Saturday night. Mid America Science Museum is a hands-on science center that lets you learn while having fun. There are several miniature golf courses in Hot Springs, as well as an aquarium, alligator farm, gangster museum - and a chance to “ride the ducks!"
Shopaholics can shop till they drop at Hot Springs Mall, Arkansas antique shops, souvenir gift shops, and Hot Springs art galleries that feature the work of many local artists.
