Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The First Ever 9th Annual Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held in Hot Springs on March 17, 2012.  This zany parade, made famous by it’s whopping 98 feet length, occurs every year on Bridge Street in downtown Hot Springs.  Tim Matheson, aka “Otter” from Animal House, will be this year’s celebrity grand marshal.

The entertainment district opens at 11a.m. in Hill Wheatley Plaza, and the Irish concert band, Pickled Beets will play at 2pm on the Bridge Street Stage.  Try your luck in the Blarney Stone Kissing Contest at 4:30pm, and then the Famous Chicken will kick off the official festivities at 5:30 pm.  The actual parade starts at 6:30pm, but you’d better find a viewing spot early, because a huge crowd is expected this year.  After the parade, .38 Special will be in concert at Hill Wheatley Plaza.

Tiffany’s Bed and Breakfast can help you with your Hot Springs Arkansas travel plans.  With all the activities planned on Saturday, you’ll definitely want to arrive on Friday so that you won’t miss a minute of the parade that has made Hot Springs famous!
