Hot Springs Blues Festival coming Labor Day Weekend 2012

The weather is beginning to cool off a bit, and that means Hot Springs is heating up for a fantastic fall!  The 16th Annual Hot Springs Blues Festival kicks it off August 30-September 1, 2012.  Held at various locations in downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas, this year’s event is headlined by “The Fabulous Thunderbirds“.  Led by original member and co-founder Kim Wilson, this group is known for their devotion to the sounds of blues.  The Fabulous Thunderbirds take the stage at 9:15 pm on Saturday in Hill Wheatley Plaza.

The Festival begins Thursday at 8pm with an Official Kick Off Party at the Ohio Club with The Stella Vees.  Friday opens with workshops from 2-5pm.  The music starts with Eric Hughes Band from Memphis, and ends with headliner Zac Harmon Band. After-Parties start at 9pm, and are held at multiple locations around town.

Admission for the festival is $10 per day or $15 for a weekend pass.  Tickets can be purchased online or single day passes will be available at the gate.  Hill Wheatley Plaza is located across the street from Bathhouse Row.  So after you enjoy a relaxing Breakfast at Tiffany’s, you can spend the day exploring Hot Springs National Park, and then walk right over to the Blues Festival!
