Where to Find Diamonds in Arkansas
Arkansas is the only state in the country (and the only place in the world) with a publicly accessible diamond mine where you can keep what you find! This fun and unique opportunity brings thousands of visitors each year to the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, Arkansas, just a 45-mile scenic drive from Tiffany's Bed and Breakfast.
Miranda’s discovery came right after a recent plowing and a morning rainfall, which creates the perfect surface-searching conditions! The 37.5-acre search area is the eroded surface of an ancient, diamond-bearing volcanic crater. Park staff plow the soil periodically to encourage natural erosion, and new finds are reported almost daily.
Over the years, visitors have uncovered incredible gems—including a 9.07-carat diamond in 2020 and a 16.37-carat white diamond in 1975!
