Hot Springs DOES Have a Nightlife – Part 5

Our final installment on Hot Springs’ Nightlife comes just in time for the Christmas season.  “Holiday Lights 2012” at Garvan Woodland Gardens lights up the nights from Nov. 17-Dec. 31.  Ask any local or visitor, and they will tell you this is a “Can’t Miss” event in Hot Springs, AR.  Over 2 million lights will adorn 17 acres of the gardens, transforming it into a winter wonderland of beauty and holiday festivities.  Enjoy the cool blue and white lights of the Garden of the Pine Wind, or the festive colors of Candy Cane Lane.  Hop onto the life sized locomotive or stroll past butterflies in flight as tulips grow and bloom right before your eyes!

There are also a number of concerts and various events planned throughout the season.  “The Village Big Band” kicks off the season with a free concert on Nov. 17.  Dancers from Ballet Arkansas’ The Nutcracker will be in attendance at a luncheon Nov. 18 (advance reservations and pre-payment are required).  More active ways to enjoy the lights include the “Fall/Winter Walk” on Nov. 29, or the “2012 Jingle Bell 5K Run/Walk” on Dec. 8.  Our favorite performers are the “Ringers of Hope Bell Choir” who perform Dec. 10 at 6:30pm.  This amazing group of students from Ouachita Hills Academy will amaze you with their English handbell talents.  Warning:  they are NOT your grandma’s handbell choir!

To enjoy the gardens at their best, consider making reservations for our “Unplug and Unwind” package.  Two nights at Tiffany’s Bed and Breakfast, two tickets to Garvan Woodland Gardens, a spa basket, Breakfast at Tiffany’s each morning, and quiet time to recharge – something we all need during the busy holiday season!  The gardens are open daily at 12 noon, and “Holiday Lights” start nightly from 5p.m. to 9p.m.  Admission is $10 per adult, and they are closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
